This weekend 22 students and 4 teachers boarded the good ship Nick’s Cruises for a fun-packed sail around Auckland’s harbour islands. First stop was the stunning volcano, Rangitoto. Some of us made the 45 minutes climb to the top and got treated to breath-taking views while the rest stayed on the boat and fished. One of our Japanese students brought her Sashimi knife so we could all enjoy the fresh catch for dinner. As the sun went down, some students took over the DJing with their ipods and others played cards and chess under the starlit sky. The next morning we were up bright and early for a swim and chance to relax, play beach cricket or walk around Motuihe Island. After a delicious lunch, it was a leisurely cruise back to Auckland, the sun still shining in the clear autumn sky.
