Under the rules of NZQA’s Tertiary and International Learners Code of Practice, all international students studying at Languages International have to have appropriate travel and medical insurance. Appropriate insurance means:

  • A policy that covers you during your travel to New Zealand, your whole stay here and your travel back to your home country.
  • An insurer with a credit rating no lower than ‘A’ from Standard and Poors or B+ from A M Best, and which is able to provide services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Cover that includes at least the following types and limits:
Events Cover limits (New Zealand dollars)
Medical & Related Expenses (including Evacuation, Repatriation & Cancellation) Unlimited
Luggage & Personal Effects $15,000
Missed Transport Connection $25,000
Death or Disablement by Injury $50,000
Personal Liability $2,500,000
Kidnap & Ransom $250,000
Rental Vehicle Excess $5,000
