Loay AlShareef is a major social media star in the Arabic-speaking world. He recently visited Auckland and shared his experience with his thousands of followers on Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter. While in Auckland, Loay came to Languages International to see the school and talk to students and teachers about what it is like to study English in New Zealand.

Loay has now posted a fascinating 11-minute video about Auckland on YouTube. In the video, you’ll find out:

  • what to do for fun in Auckland
  • Loay’s restaurant recommendations
  • where he had his best ice cream experience
  • if New Zealanders are friendly and welcoming to people from other countries
  • what it costs for an English student to live in Auckland

You will also see brief interviews with one of our teachers, Simon Flower and one of our Saudi Arabian students, Thamer Alhamdi.

Don’t worry if you don’t speak Arabic. The video has English subtitles. Watch the video at the top of this page.
