Last week 12 students and Simon, the Social Programme Coordinator, took an hour-long drive north of Auckland to Warkworth horseriding centre. It had been raining for days and days and as if by magic, the sun came out just as we were mounting our steeds.

The more experienced riders galloped up the hill while the beginners trotted along through the woods and looked at the New Zealand birds, included the colourful Pukeko.

After our ride, we got fish and chips by river before driving back over the hills to look at the Kaipara harbour.
